Hi, I’m Shayne.
I’m a media producer in Anchorage, Alaska. I specialize in social media storytelling, interactive design and data journalism.
I’m currently a digital content producer for CBS affiliate KTVA 11 News.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Public Communications from the University of Alaska Anchorage. I also served as the social media specialist for the university where I built social media and crisis communications strategies — most notably for the aftermath of a 7.1-magnitude earthquake and reputation management for the university.
I’m pursuing a Master of Science in Communications, concentration in journalism innovation, from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University.
I created the Anchorage Founders Project and like to tell stories about race, identity, culture, socioeconomics and politics. You can find my work in True North Magazine, The Spenardian, April Magazine and the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman.
I’m passionate about web culture, analog photography and dessert.
